When you’re in the process of creating a calming atmosphere for your new baby, the blind(s) can often be the last thing on the list. However, a blind in a nursery could be one of the most important choices you make when setting up a new nursery.
Blackout is key
With the sleeping pattern of a new born, you’re going to need a blackout blind. Roller blinds are the most popular, often fitted outside the recess to make sure no light seeps in through the edges. A blackout roller blind is the perfect choice for your nursery blinds and will last well into the toddler years.
Patterns & Prints
Provide your baby with a world of imagination by choosing a childlike pattern or print such as butterflies, stars, boats or cars. Again, the pattern will last you well into their development and will provide a fun atmosphere for your child to grow and learn in. Roman blinds are also a great option for nursery blinds as they can have blackout lining and will provide that perfect sleeping environment, day or night.
Child Safety
The most important factor in choosing blinds for your new nursery – make sure they’re 100% child safe. All of our blinds are fitted with some sort of child safety device. Our roller blinds are fitted with a chain break system which will break the chain whenever a certain weight is pulled on it. Our roman blind & vertical blind chain has to be 1500mm from the floor and attached to the wall with a P bracket. If your blind doesn’t have a safety device installed – you can obtain them for free from any of our showrooms. Better to be safe than sorry.
