All white can make for a fresh and contemporary interior. With clean lines and a bright appearance, white is a popular colour theme for many people including those with both modern and classic furniture. The only thing that puts a lot of people off (especially those with children) is that you’ve got to keep it clean. We’ve come to your rescue with a few tips to make the white trend livable.
Go faux
PVC is brilliant for pulling off the all white trend because it’s so easy to clean. If you like wooden blinds or shutters, go for a faux wood or PVC version to make cleaning a doddle – they also won’t be affected by steam or heat. Don’t forget, choosing faux wood doesn’t mean you have to have a flat finish to your white blinds, go for our ‘Hollywood’ range with a grain running through the PVC for a shabby chic affect.
Keep your sill space
Another great way to live with the white trend is to opt for a wipeable roller blind – this way you can keep your sill space for utensils or plants to bring a splash of colour to the room. Our wipeable roller blinds are made from PVC and like faux-wood are not affected by heat or steam. You can simply roll the blind up half way and keep your sill space clear during the day, then gently slot the slimline blind to the back of your sill at night.
Washable textiles
If roman blinds or curtains are more your boat, make sure you choose washable fabrics to keep them fresh and clean. If you’re sure, ask a member of staff and they will be able to tell you the washing instructions. This way, you can plump up your window seat with a few cushions that won’t look like they’re stained yellow.
Hopefully we’ve given you a few tips on how to actually live with that stylish all-white interior that seems to be plastered over every glossy magazine out there. Although you might not think it at first, it is possible to have a stylish and practical home, even with white blinds!
