Roman blinds are among the more luxurious blinds and can sometimes reflect that in the price (ouch!). At Amanda for Blinds we’re proud to say that we always give you the absolute best price first time and even include blackout lining as standard. The only thing you have to do now is pick which fabric you’d like them in… from over 2000 samples.
Our plains range probably makes up about 30% of what is on offer. They are a popular choice due to their versatility – no matter how much you change your patterned wallpaper or cushions, a plain blind is always going to match. The error some customers make when they’re choosing a fabric is that they think a plain fabric will look too bland and boring, but this is where they’re wrong. Our plain fabrics come in a wide range of textures such as silks and weaves to heavier velvety plains that can bring a homely feel. Rule No1 – Don’t dismiss the plains.
Another great option is stripes. You can choose which direction you want them to run, vertically or horizontally, and they come in all sorts of thickness. For a smaller window, we’d suggest a smaller or thinner stripe so that you see more of the pattern when the blind is made up. For a larger window, a larger stripe will show off the space and create a center point in the room. Stripes look especially striking run vertically as when the folds of the blind come up, the pattern is still fully on show.
Sometimes, brilliant floral patterns can be dismissed due to being “chintzy” or “old fashioned” but used in the right way, they can look beautiful. We have a whole heap of modern floral fabrics in a range of different colours which look stunning in a country style kitchen or a spare bedroom with other-wise-plain bedding and decor. If you’re not too sure of an all-floral roman blind, you could add a panel of a plain colour that matches one within the floral pattern.
And finally… everything else. We offer a wide range of geometric shape fabrics and tartan is also very popular at the moment – also available in a range of colour ways. Not only that, but we have children’s patterns with trucks, animals, stars & much more which would all make a perfect addition to your nursery or child’s bedroom. You could also add an extra finishing touch to your blind by adding a braid or panel as mentioned previously – this makes the blind truly bespoke and becomes tailored to your interior decor.
